It was a pleasure and an honour to have known and worked with you over the last 10 years. Your enthusiasm for life and work is an inspiration and you reminded me so much of my own father who passed away 7 years ago. Rest in peace my old friend. My condolences to Jean and the family.

I knew Alan for more than 30 years through Uckfield RFC and The Uckfield Singers. An old school gentleman and a complete rugby devotee he will be much missed in both organisations. He also raised money for many worthwhile charities, notably Wooden Spoon, and championed many local community initiatives, especially the 4G pitch on behalf of URFC. A life well lived. I will miss him. I am very sorry not to be able to attend his funeral as we are away.
